Meadow

Hey, bestie! 💖 Welcome to Cigars 101, the cutest, most unexpectedly fabulous cigar blog on the internet. I’m Meadow, your friendly guide to all things smoky, sophisticated, and just a little bit retro. Think early 2000s internet vibes—glittery graphics, pixel fonts, and a little bit of that old-school forum energy—but with a twist: we’re talking cigars.

I know, I know. You’re probably thinking, “Wait, cigars?? Like, old guys in leather chairs and whiskey?” And yeah, sure, that’s a thing. But cigars are also about indulgence, slowing down, and treating yourself—just like a self-care night with face masks and early Britney albums. Whether you’re a total newbie, curious but intimidated, or just looking to add a little luxury to your routine, I’ve got you covered.

Expect fun guides, aesthetic cigar pairings, and absolutely no gatekeeping. Whether you wanna know how to pick your first cigar, store them like a pro, or just look cool holding one (because let’s be real, that matters), I’m here for you. Let’s light up, vibe out, and bring a little Y2K glam to the cigar world. ✨💅🔥

What Makes A Good Humidor?

A good humidor is more than just a box—it is the key to keeping cigars fresh, flavorful, and ready to smoke. The right humidor maintains proper humidity levels, protects cigars from outside elements, and enhances the overall smoking experience.

Humidity Control

The most important feature of a humidor is its ability to regulate humidity. The ideal range for cigars is between 65 and 72 percent relative humidity. A good humidor will include a reliable hygrometer to monitor levels and a humidification system that evenly distributes moisture.

Airtight Seal

A humidor needs a strong, airtight seal to keep humidity from escaping. A well-constructed humidor will close smoothly with no gaps. If air leaks in and out, cigars can dry out or become too moist, leading to burn issues and flavor loss.

Quality Materials

Spanish cedar is the gold standard for humidor interiors. It helps retain moisture, repels tobacco beetles, and enhances cigar aging. Some humidors use other woods, but they do not offer the same level of protection and benefits as Spanish cedar.
